Always time for a quick photo when you are filming the Bloodhound. @bloodhound_lsr - it’s been fascinating filming this amazing vehicle deep in the Karoo desert.
This is one of the more interesting pieces to camera I’ve shot for a while. @awjharding and I have been covering the Bloodhound LSR team in the deserts of northern #SouthAfrica.
Here is a short compilation of the some of the footage I have filmed of Prince Harry and Meghan over the last two weeks. . . For most of the events I shared pool responsibilities with colleagues from Sky and ITN but the shots in this short reel are all mine. . . The logistics of the trip were punishing. We went to Cape Town, Botswana, Angola, Zambia, Malawi and then finished in Jo’burg. I took 13 flights and had almost no time to set anything up. Editing was done while on the move and everything was shot in the harsh light in the middle of the day. . . But I loved the challenge and feel like a much sharper news cameraman and editor now. I feel like I have my news sense back after years of mainly just doing features and docs. . . For those interested I used the Sony #Z90 for all of these images. It packs and amazing punch and in my opinion is the perfect news camera for people who need flexibility while also travelling light. . . . #filmmakers #travel #travelphotography #cameraman #newsphotog #photog #news #documentary #filmmaking #filmmaker #film
#heritageday with the awesome @pfihlani - I love an excuse to represent my Sotho family 👍😎 and of course a big thank you to my partner in crime @vauldi for the pic!
Thanks to @woosterstreetboxing I feel sharper than I have in years. While I still have a long way to go in my skills and fitness it’s great to know that even in your 40s you can keep growing, improving and getting after it.
Summer is here in #SouthAfrica - wonderful to have breakfast in the garden with my boys.
