My review of the Sony HX90v compact camera

I do enjoy shooting on compact cameras. I love cameras that fit in your pocket and are always with you ready for action.

Therefore I recently purchased the Sony HX90v and decided to put it through its paces. As you know I shoot video rather than stills so this review focuses mainly on the camera’s video functions.

To sum my thoughts, I love the price and the size. The zoom is outstanding and the image stabilisation is really good. According to the Sony website:

“The ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 30x optical zoom lens extends a legacy of high-precision optics to capture clear, sharp, undegraded images throughout a 24-720mm2 range.”

I also liked that the LCD screen can flip right over making selfie shooting easy.

I didn’t like the colours of the image though and the internal mic wasn’t good.

I’d give it 7/10 mainly because of the price and the length of the zoom.
